Indian wisdom has penetrated deep into human body and mind since ancient time. Rishi and Muni in India have devoted their time to rediscover complexities of the human body and given insights of "Yoga" and "Mudra". Yoga is a wonderful gift to humanity from our country. Yoga and Mudra go simultaneously compensating each other.  Many a time, postures of Indian ascetics are referred as "YogaMudra" combining both the words.

Vayu Mudra
There are eight stages or steps (Ashtanga Yoga) in Yoga described by Patanjali. These are known as Yama, Niyama, Asana, Pranayama, Pratyahara, Dharana, Dhyana and Samadhi. For a layman, Asana is known as Yoga.

We have to understand that Yoga is not a physical exercise or aerobics, as many of modern days Yoga practitioners think. Asana or Yogasana are postures that help us in keeping in good health conditions and to purify the mind. The ultimate purpose of these postures is to attend the stages of Dhyana and Samadhi, the stage of ultimate peace and wisdom.

There are hundreds and thousands of Mudra referred in various ancient Indian texts.  These are very useful in the treatment of large numbers of ailments and diseases. These Yogamudra are also helpful in keeping us healthy, naturally.

We need an approach to consider the ancient Indian wisdom of Yoga and Mudra sciences as a helpful technique of curing ailments.
